Bengal Breed

So you are looking to get a Bengal kitten and will like to know more about the Bengal cat breed before buying one, and to answer the question if the Bengal breed is suitable?

General Description
The Bengal cat was originally developed from crossing a domestic cat with a wild Asian Leopard Cat. The Bengal is the only cat breed that has the spot markings of Leopards and Jaguars and the sweet loving nature of a domestic tabby cat. Today's domestic Bengal cat comes only from breeding Bengals to other Bengals.

The Bengal cat is active, inquisitive and very affectionate. The Bengal's idea of fun is playing, chasing, jumping and exploring its surroundings. The Bengal will also in general want to be where you are, afterall that is where the action is, and makes a good choice for individuals or families who enjoy funny, beautiful and dynamic feline companionship.

Traits
The Bengal is most noted for its luxurious short, soft coat which may appear either spotted or marble pattern. The spotted pattern is most associated with the 'leopard look' of its wild ancestor. The marbled pattern Bengal has a very dramatic appearance that either appears as random swirls or thick diagonal and horizontal lines flowing across the coat of the cat.

Distinguishing marks for a Bengal are the spots or marble pattern, with spots on its belly, stripe 'leopard' markings on its legs, a tabby 'M' on its head and side markings on its face, and a tail that has spaced dark markings and tip. Bengal colour can range from a cool grey to vibrant shades of golden, bronze, copper, mahogany, silver or snow with spots or marbling ranging from rich browns to intense black. Snow Bengals can have eyes ranging from blue to aqua.

Bengals are medium to large cats, from 3-7kg. A healthy Bengal is well muscled and has an athletic appearance.

Bengals are generally confident, curious and devoted companions. They get along well with other pets and enjoy being part of a family. Because of their short soft coat, Bengals usually shed very little hair and will make perfect pets with very little need for grooming / maintenance.
